I have posted about Candida recently and also I have been reading the other threads about this topic. I am currently treating Candida with diet, probiotics, and diflucan.
One thing I have noticed since I began logging what I eat and how I feel physically - within 20 minutes of eating, my heart starts to race and I also feel sick. Sometimes it's a stomach-related bloated feeling, but since cutting out dairy and trying to stick with the Candida diet, the "sick" feeling I get after eating is mostly just feeling BLAH. Sort of weak, achey, just SICK. Kind of like a herx from abx.
I have read that this heart racing after eating could be due to a food allergy. But for me, it happens with almost every kind of food. Could it just be my candida is so bad that all food, which I guess is feeding the yeast, is causing this heart thing?
I have realized that Candida is probably the major cause of my remaining symptoms at this point. What if I have it so bad that I can't beat it? How long until I notice a significant change?

Hey hey...
I can't say what is causing your after meal symptoms, but I can say they sound VERY similar to what I was experiencing.
Didn't know that I had leaky gut at the time. Once diagnosed and treated I am fine with it... but it caused me to have reactions to ALL foods I was eating, and I tested positive for dozens of food allergies that I didn't know I'd developed.

Could be! But do get checked out by your doctor! Candida is a nasty thing!! Get VERY strict with your diet. It WILL pay off. Do it now, before you REALLY have trouble beating it!!
DIET, DIET, DIET is the key. Then, be sure to follow the 5 step plan outlined below. It was developed by my naturopath. It works.
"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."
Five Steps to Candida Elimination:
1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.
2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]
3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]
4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]
5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]

And it could be normal digestion process where the heart speeds up to pump more blood to the stomach to start digestion of food.

Sugar quite clearly causes my heart rhythm problems to get worse, so it may well be candida-related.

Have had this for years! It totally sucks. My heart starts beating after eating and I pretty much can't do much physical activity!
I def. have candida issues but Nystatin and Yeast free diet hasn't helped much.
I think mine is from nerve irritation. The toxins in the body can just be irritating your nerves so that's making them more sensative.
I take Magnesium and that helps. Make sure you chew your food really well. The candida diet could help too. Just avoid sugar and alcohol and anything that bugs you.
Also regular excercise will help.

You mentioned Leaky Gut. My doc thinks I don't have it but I'm not sure.
Can you tell us what you did that helped you most with curing it?
Thanks a bunch.

Hey choo...
I got the list of foods I was allergic too, it came from the lab with test results. I tried to avoid the foods on the list.
But chocolate and red meat were about the only things NOT on the list as I was eating very healthy at the time, so it wasn't easy.
I finally traded off- stayed off 3/4 of the foods for a few months, then reintroduced them, one at a time. Then I stayed off the other foods for a few months to help "un-allergy" me to them.
In the meantime, the treatment was 1 tablespoon of L-Glutamine powder per day (mixed in water and drink it right away). I also added a touch of FOS powder (feeds the acidophilus) and powdered probiotics to the glass of water.
Within a couple of weeks I started noticing improvement. GREAT improvement actually. I can't remember how long I was on the L-Glutamine- but several months- maybe 6 total?
The L-Glutamine must be pure pharmaeucutical grade with no additives. It is an amino acid so if you don't have leaky gut, no harm, no foul.
Don't let the moisture get into the powder or let the glass of water sit around, as it can turn into ammonia and that's not desirable.
I also purchased Bragg's liquid amino acids. It is used like soy sauce on foods you eat and it contains a lot of different amino acids. That wasn't on the protocol, just something extra I did.
My muscles (especially my muscles), bladder, girly stuff, guts and other things improved a lot with the treatment.
I purchased the L-Glutamine from the docs office at first, then at the health food store, over the counter.
It may possibly be the easiest treatment I've done for anything so far, related to Lyme.

Tincup,
Do you accept PM's? Wanted to send you a PM but doesn't look like you have it enabled.
Was hoping you could let me know how you got over leaky gut and food allergies. I'm in a bad place right now with all of that. Thanks!

Sorry Tincup, I didn't read your other response before. I now see that you posted what you did. Can I ask this then: Are you in remission from everything?
