I think Dr Jones says to treat IF THEY HAVE SYMPTOMS. Otherwise, leave it alone. Hoping you get plenty of good feedback here!

Thank you Lymetoo.

Like I said they have very very minor symptoms right now. However, at there age, they might have more symptoms that they just dont relay to me.

When you are born with it, alot of things might just be normal to them!

Im kinda torn right now!

The band 31 in the IgG means they have had it a long time, over a year, according to what my LLMD told me when he saw that band positive on mine.

The WB shows that yes, they have been exposed. I agree with Lymetoo, LLMD's seem to say treat when there are symptoms. You know they've been exposed, so I'd take that into account. Like, I'd have my kids taking things I knew would help them (I'm thinking things like vitamin C and D, and maybe some gentle herbs since they're young).

But with minimal symptoms, I don't think I'd bring out the big guns.

That's just based on my experience.

Yes, our LLMD also says only treat if there are symptoms.
Any learning, sensory, behavior issues?

It is a tough call. Those are some pretty positive tests.
I agree w/ other poster, keep them healthy, good food, probiotics for kids, vitamins.

Lyme positive PCR blood, and
positive Bartonella henselae Igenex, 2011.
low positive Fry biofilm test, 2012.
Update 7/16- After extensive treatments,
doing okay!

MY oldest has the most symptoms. Headache, joint pain, eye pain, frequent urination, stomache aches. We are treating him already.

My other two: My youngest just has like thrush looking stuff on his tongue- which probiotics helps. And ocasionally he blinks alot when watching tv.

My middle child: Some stomache aches and says his eyes hurt him sometimes.

I really do not know if this has affected their behavior and/ or learning. Yes, they are naughty, but they are boys. My oldest is the top in his class and my middle is doing fine in school. Youngest is not in school yet.

Older two are very athletic!!

I am so torn if I should treat or wait. I know that they have had it since birth, so they have all had it for years. I am afraid of regretting my decision.

They are already taking probiotics and multi vitamin. Should I be doing more?? I am always afraid of giving them too much.

I think I would, yes.

I had minor symptoms as a child. They slowly progressed to being more significant into adulthood, although I adjusted lifestyle to a more healthy one and this also slowed the progress. Then a traumatic event happened in my life and all total hell broke loose. Gotta believe it would've been easier to treat before that.

We stressed over this same decision 2yrs ago. My son then age 9 and daughter age 4 both tested positive after displaying minor symptoms. For our son, he could not get his asthma under control despite high doses of singular/adviar and use of breathing treatments. Our daughter displayed anxiety and stomach issues.

We treated them both on abx for 6mths or until their symptoms resolved. For us the risk of abx side effects was far less than the potential unknown future risk of no treatment.

We really pushed the proboitics during the treatment and went very slow with the abx.

Fast forward 1.5 years later, my son no longer takes ANY asthma/allergy medicine and my daughter is symptom free! Best decision we ever made!

Our reasoning was that we know they have it, better to treat early and try and knock it out while the symptoms are considered "minor" versus waiting for a potential event in the future to cause it to create problems for them as adults.

Best of luck whatever you decide, such a hard thing to watch our children in pain.

I would say yes to treatment. My kids are in treatment although symptoms were a bit obvious. One is almost done, the other probably has 6 months to go.

It's a struggle some days, some days it's just great.

I agree with lymetoo, get them on probiotics. This is always a good thing. Also, vitamin D. There are orange flavored at 400 iu, and lemon at 1000 iu.

Ease up on the sugar as it taxes the immune system. The one with the stomach issues--see if he'll go gluten free.

Best of luck to you.

Whatever you do, I would forego any vaccinations you have planned. Vaccinations have been known to bring out Lyme in people who didn't even know they had it.

I don't have children with lyme but it seems like treatment would be faster and easier if started while they are feeling healthy rather than waiting until they are really sick.

I agree with vitamin D, probiotics and no sugar or processed refined food.

To me, that's not a big enough reason to treat at this time. Just me.

Treat them first for possible yeast.

Were the tests done through Igenex?

If so, there is another test they can run to verify the Band 31 bc other things can trigger that Band.

If the test was done recently, your Dr can call Igenex and they should be able to add that test on to the blood they already have.

I agree with jackie about gluten free. It's inconvenient, but it helps.

Given our experience and you mentioning that your one child blinks a lot while watching tv and the other having occasional eye pain,

I would suggest getting them tested for strep and mycoplasma.

They are both blood tests.

It IS a very tough decision to make! Hope you find answers soon.
