I've been having shortness of breath and chest pain for awhile and I finally decided to go see a cardiologist to have it checked out. Apparently on the echocardiogram my pulmonary pressures were too high and I just went today for some pulmonary function tests. Don't have those results yet.

My question is: I don't have any risk factors for pulmonary hypertension, so this kind of came out of the blue... has anyone ever heard of a connection between Lyme, babesia or any of the other TBD?

I've searched the internet, without any luck, searched this site, not much here either. So, I figured I'd just put this out there, to see if anyone knows anything about this or has any experience with it.

I don't know if pulmonary hypertension was diagnosed in this case, but I read a story of a woman diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.

She was a veterinarian.
She ultimately was diagnosed with babesia, was treated and her lung function returned to normal.

Thanks manybites and pocono - yeah, the first thing I thought of was babesia as well. The strange thing is I was treated for babesia about 5 years ago with good results.

Lately though (last few months) my shortness of breath, fatigue, etc have gotten worse....and the drenching night sweats are back!!! I had a chest x-ray done last spring before a surgery, and no problems then. They're scheduling me for a chest CT now.

I'll be seeing my LLMD in a few days, and supposedly my cardiologist was going to talk to her about all this...so I'll be interested to see what I can find out.

Still curious if anyone else knows anything or has any experience like this, thanks!!!
