Hi All, [hi]
It seems one of my family member's failed to tell me they were coming down with a cold; now I have it.

It has been kicking my butt now for 3 days, however I have noticed I am getting a couple little blisters along the edge of my lips and along the sides of my tongue.

Has anyone had these? Could it be from the cold, or maybe the ketchup I had with my sweet potatoes :-) Or the Halls?

Any feedback would be appreciated as well as a soothing option.
Thanks!

I would try rinsing with lukewarm salt water.

Are they little blistery-looking things that almost look like they could pop? Or are they more like canker sores?

Hi Canaanbites,
They don't look like they could pop,,, not yet anyway. They are just little and red.

Last week a had a couple when I ate a strawberry; usually no problems with strawberries.

With this cold I have went thru maybe - 15? throat losengers. Drinking sooo much water, no soda's, but i did have a sandwich yesterday with a tomato on it.

Guess I'm looking for a quick answer when it could be any of them...including the cold.
I'll try the salt water,, thanks! [hi]

I was coming down with something, presumable the flu or a cold. I took some elderberry syrup and was better the next day. The same thing happened with a friend. I continued to take the syrup for another day and it was totally gone. My friend did not and she thought it might be coming back so she went back to the sambucus another day.

canaanbites' suggestion for warm water and sea salt is good, just be sure it's not too salty as to burn. You might add a little xylitol to it.

lymenotlite is so right about ELDERBERRY. It's amazing. So is LDM-100, a Lomatium tincture (from Barlow Herbs).

You might try some coconut oil in your mouth to soothe the sores.

Avoid any toothpaste with sodium laurel sulfate, etc.

The ONLY thing that has helped me after years of "burning mouth" and months of aphthous ulcers is Sea Buckthorn Oil.

It seems to be making my teeth a little discolored (as do all the herbs and teas) but at least the tissue in my mouth is not just disappearing as it had been doing for so long.

I use 4 - 8 oz. per month, using a half-dropper 4-5 x day and just let it soak in. A 2 ounce bottle may be enough if you just use a couple of drops each time.

The best price I've found is:

Sea Buckthorn Oil - to purchase:

Thank you everyone,
I decided to go get it checked when I looked with a light and saw them running down the back wall of my throat.

Those did look like they were ready to bust. No gargling in the world was going to hit them.

My MD had me meet with their onsite Nutritionist & alternative therapy doctor. She has me on Aloe Juice: rinse, gargle, swallow.

After 4: I can say my mouth is no longer sore and my throat blisters now have eased to red bumps.

lymenotlit - where did you get the elderberry syrup? It seems the cold is going around in my house [Frown]

Thanks All [hi]

Lysine is very good for shortening the duration of cold sores and also preventing them.

If you are on Bactrim, it could be a reaction. Look at side effects.
