I finally saw a LLMD who diagnosed me with Lyme along with a couple of co-infections. I felt finally I will get treated and get better, but it's not looking like that for me right now.
I am allergic to all the "Cillin" meds (anaphylaxis), Cipro, Sulfa, Biaxin, Zithromax (all caused rash and itching), but never had a problem in the past with the one time I took Doxy.
He started me on Doryx and after 2 days I started with my body feeling like it was on fire, itchy/prickly/red skin, but no rash. My LLMD had me stop taking it and wants to have me allergy tested (didn't know they could test for drugs).
He doesn't know if this is also an allergic reaction, but he doesn't want to take the chance. How can I be allergic to all these anitibiotics?
How will I ever get rid of Lyme if I can't take antibiotics? Has anyone else ever gone through this? Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks, Madison

Well, I guess there's no "rush" since you first posted here nearly 3 yrs ago!!
Definitely get tested for these so maybe there is ONE you can take.
Many use herbs or a Rife machine to get well. That may be an option for you.
Welcome back!

Your doctor is being prudent to test you for allergies.
There are many possibilities. Lyme and co-infections do cause allergies. Sometimes a herx reaction can mimic an allergic reaction. Some people respond to die-off with hives that settle down after a couple days.
Because allergic reactions can be severe and life-threatening, your doc needs to know what's happening with you. If it's allergies, you many need to take anti-histamines to tolerate abx.
Or you may need to treat with herbs until the allergic response calms down.
Some patients relieve their allergies with extensive detox protocols.
There are many treatment options. If you have a good doc, you will find a way to treat your Lyme.
Try searching MCS or multiple chemical sensitivities. See what others have done.

There is a way to take the medications that you are allergic to that is called de sensitivity or de sensitize ... If yo look it up online its something doctors do that is a technique of how much and how fast to take a medication adjusting dose from very tiny working up at a certain rate and taking breaks or backing off at certain time frames or at certain onsets of the symptoms and then after you go through the process you can come back and take the medication as normal and will not have the reaction to it anymore. It can take a few times and trials before you can resolves the reaction fully but I did do this many years ago on one drug I had an issue with and it worked for me. Sorry I can not remember the details of how o do it.. But am sure you can find it online and ask a doctor about it.
Good Luck

You could try doing the Buhner herbs - see Steven Buhner's book "Healing Lyme."
Also food anti-inflammatories work for me - mangosteen juice, noni juice, grapeseed extract, and probably etc in that category.
You could also do a bloodtest for your genetic ability or lack of to detox - the detoxigenomic liver test through Genova Diagnostics. It can show the doctor how you detox or don't.
Personally, I'm highly allergic to meds. Clindamycin did work for me.
I am getting best detox results sweating in an FIR portable sauna tent - am gradually getting less sensitive to chemicals. Don't know if that applies to meds at all, but it can work if you're highly chemically sensitive, to lighten the load.
