I started a flagyl pulse Sat and Sun (Just taking it on weekends). Felt pretty good Monday-however feel dizzy, hot, muscle aches and just "off" today.

However, I also took a diflucan yesterday.

How long it take for the flagyl to hit you?

Took me about 8 hours. It woke me up from sleep and I went through a good 12 hours of hell. I have felt on the path to wellness since then.

I herxed the second day into flagyl, and haven't taken it again since, it was horrible. Maybe I should start it again though. Maybe this is why I'm making little to no progress?

I take Flagyl twice daily as well as Ketek. My herxing cycles, although it is a pretty rough road everyday. The best help I have had has been the IMT (Integrative Manual Therapy) I get at the rehab center of the hospital. It wipes me out for a day, but then I usually get a burst of energy the next day. I go twice a week.

I stopped the Flagyl/Ketek and went downhill rapidly. So I know I need to hang in there. I cope with swollen glands, pain, sweats, trembling and exhaustion....but not all the time. I get help from soaking in a hot epson salts bath, aromatherapy and acupuncture needles....and my ever present heating pad.

I am supposed to go on to IV Rocephin. The IMT therapist warned that the herxing could get much worse from that....at least for awhile.

Bottom line. No pain no gain. If you saw what I went through in the hospital on Vancomycin you would see what real herxing is....sheer hell. But I walked out of there!

I think we need to accept the herxing and try to manage it as cleverly as we can....while keeping it down to a dull roar. My LLMD said that he has many patients that do quite well on Flagyl and I have to admit that I am improving, albeit too slowly.

DOCTOR: "I don't think you are sick."
PATIENT: "We are all entitled to our opinions. I don't think you are a doctor."

flagyl never hit me... at least not noticably...

after over a month of feeling no response, i gave up and moved on to another anti-biotic.

i know some people here have had very strong reactions to it though!

2-3 days for me, then down for the count for around 10-14 days. I am taking 2x daily though for 3 weeks, then off 3 weeks and repeat. this second cycle hasn't been as awful.........so far.
