My only sxs have been swollen knuckles, and only in the AM, which was what brought me to see my family practice doc. I must give her kudos for

even considering Lyme! Amyway, my question - Does swollen knuckles (and probably toes/feet too) count as "lyme arthritis"?

If so, I would think that doxy alone for just 3 weeks isn't going to be enough.

Second question - I've also had my arms become completely numb in the night/early morning, no matter what position I've been sleeping.

Is this related, or do I just need a new mattress?!?!?

Thoughts? Thanks!!

I often get swollen knuckles. And I get numb hands a lot! Definitely at night and in the morning, plus sometimes during day.

I used to have had those when I have had lyme arthritis and bartonella.

You might have them both.Numbness is more to bartonella.

This has been a big Lyme symptom for me... when it is worse, my Lyme is acting up... it has been waning since I have been on Doryx. I had this before my neck got bad so I would say, treat, treat, treat. My best to you...

All my knuckles swelled up when I first was attacked by lyme arthritis - actually, that is really my only symptom --- I was stiff, stiff, stiff. My one right thumb knuckle is the only one that is swollen still and I have been on doxy; azith and flagyl going on 4 months. It bends more than it used to, but it is still swollen. So odd how it attacks people so differently. Get more than 3 weeks of the doxy, just my opinion. Good luck !
