Anyone tried this and did you feel better?

I just found out chicken is like poison to me, yet I have been eating it 5 x weekly. Guess that explains why I feel so bad!

RZR, I found this diet to be totally incorrect in my case.

The things recommended for my blood type were either food I do not like or food that makes me feel terrible after I eat it.

Yes, I have tried it and it made me feel calmer and more in tune with myself. I tried some new foods and I was able to find enough foods that I liked as well as new recipes to include these foods. I tried to make small changes gradually such as switching from chicken to turkey. Most people that I have talked with about this are not familiar with this approach to wellness but I think it is potentially important, so I would say to go for it and see what you think.

With Lyme disease, there are many beneficial foods on the blood type diet that take time to be tolerated because you are sick. It takes a lot of time to heal the gut, but I found that it has saved me.

I use the Geno Type diet which is the next generation blood type diet. Chicken is bad for blood type B's at least. My husband is a B. If you want to try this diet and really tweek it to work, you can try the swami software that Dr. D'Adamo puts out for a one time fee of $69. It allows you to put in your specific health information to fine tune your food list.

That includes recipes and all kinds of updates as the science gets more fine tuned. Lots of variety included. Not hard to follow at all. Read about epigenetics on the dadamo.com site. I feel that this doctor is light years ahead of many others.

It is an immune supporting diet that is also a detox diet. As I continue on it, for the past year, I am now able to add some more foods that I couldn't eat a year ago. Very well worth checking into. This is not a cookie cutter approach as everyone is an individual.

Lectins in the wrong blood type cause the blood to be sticky. Read more at dadamo.com and go to the information section.

Just sharing my experience, I am not a doctor.

I am B positive....no more chicken for me!

Can blood samples be incorrect on blood type?

I thought my entire life I was type O. New test showed B+.

Chances are that your blood type test is correct.

No, your blood type cannot change (usually).

You say you "thought" your whole life you were an "O" -- is that recorded anywhere? Just to be sure (and we all should know our blood type), you might want to get another test.

[If I recall correctly, under some very unusual and rare circumstances, a blood type can change. I just don't recall details but it had to do with certain medical procedures, maybe a blood marrow transplant?]

Back to the book, this blood type diet is NOT written in stone. It's generalized and may work for many within each type.

However, it may not work for everyone.

Did NOT work for me. I'm an "A" and they are to avoid meat. I had a terrible time without it.

A couple other things, though, still makes sense. So, after reading it over, trial elimination stints, you should be able to figure out what makes you feel better (not just when eating but later on).

I asked this question of my ND and she said, absolutely, this book is just a generalization for groups. There can be numerous subsets and nothing is written in stone due to many variables.

No doubt there can be multiple food assaults that we may not be aware of so do some experimenting to find your normal.

Rotate the foods you can eat, too. Some say never eat the same thing within the next 5 days.

Not for me. Says I should eat lots of grains. I don't do well on grains and am gluten intolerant.

I'm B also!

I just bought this book at the advice of a new doctor. It is interesting how certain foods act as actual poison for your blood type.

No more avocados and brussell sprouts for me!!!

I have been eating fairly close to my blood type since being diagnosed with lyme due to the yeast free, sugar free diet and more recently I eliminated dairy completely.

It has made a dramatic, positive improvement eliminating dairy!

I also eat dairy, gluten and sugar free. Makes a difference, that is for sure! [Smile]
