I have Lyme with a co-infection on Babesia Duncani and I literally have a few hundred red dots on my chest, legs, face, neck, etc. They look like tiny broken blood vessels. I also have a new symptom of little clear bumps on the palms of my hands. They actually are somewhat painful to the touch. It actually feels like there is a sliver in the bumps on the palm of my hand. Does anyone else have these skin issues?

When I first got sick with 105 fever, I had little red dots all over my body. I'm interested to hear what they are as well. I never had a test for B. Duncani, but I had one for microti and was negative.
I was clinically diagnosed for babesia and I have Lyme also Igenex/CDC positive.

I keep asking my LLMD about them and he has told me over and over again that the red spots are most likely from the Babesia and sometimes they go away and sometimes they don't. Mine are getting worse and not going away. OVerall, I'm doing much better than I was before, however, this skin issues are driving me nuts. I'm getting them all over my face now.

Little red dots are babesia. I thought all other skin issues were bart. Maybe you've got both and that is why the red dots are getting worse and not better.
Good luck.

This is one of the manifestations of vascultis. Can be caused by more than babesia. In other words, anything that damages blood vessels can cause vascultis. That is that the name means.

I was going to post the exact same question this morning except I only have the spots on my back. As far as I know, they appeared yesterday and one area is itchy.

If the spots itch and are concentrated in one place, google shingles. There is more than one kind of spot.

Nefferdun, YES this is what the spots look like. And we both have Babesia Duncani.

They are called Petechia. They are associated with babesia and other things as well. They are caused by bleeding under the skin.
I used to have them all over my legs. They were the size of pin pricks. Mine are gone now.
I don't know what the clear bumps on the hands might be but you might want to consider seeing a dermatologist if your LLMD doesn't know.

I've been told by three doctors that the little pinprick red dots ( not raised ) are from a congested/sluggish liver.
Just repeating what they said. I'm sure there is no one clear answer as to what causes them.
I do know I had them 20 years ago, loooooong before I got sick with Lyme, when I was pregnant. After I had a baby they went away.

You might want to be sure it is not Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. It can be fatal if not caught early.
You can dx it with a simple blood test. My husband had it, but they caught it early and tx with Doxycycline.
Our PCP was much more aware of the dangers of RMSF than of Lyme. It is common around here.
Hope you get to the bottom of it soon. Take care and God bless.

I have some of those on my forearms. Had them for several years now. I do have gilbert's syndrome, which is a mild liver condition. I've tried rubbing things like essential oils and herbs on them but nothing affects them.
For about a month now I've gotten in the habit of having a green smoothie every morning. With this new addition to my diet, I noticed one of those red dots burst and bled. Now it's scabbed over. I'm going on a green juice regimen to see if I can observe additional effects.

Interesting, I noticed the same dots shortly after I started taking Doxy. I actually thought it might have had something to do with the photosensitivity. I also noticed some other abnormal skin markings, when I saw a potentially new PCP he told me that they were age spots (I'm in my 30s), I didn't go back to him. I just started treatment for Babesia, that might explain these dots. I'm intrigued.

I have exactly the same thing. I was taking Soma (muscle relaxer) for about a week, then got a rash on my chest, bumps under my arms, between my thighs, then petechiae on my legs, ankles, and feet. I also got the bumps on my hands (palms and fingers). I looked under the microscope, and these, too, are broken blood vessels.
I went to the doctor, who didn't have a clue. She said stop the med, and see if it goes away. She ran blood tests, and my ANA came back mildly elevated in a "speckled" pattern, indicative of connective tissue disease or lupus.
After stopping the med, the rash went away, and the petechiae are almost gone on my legs/feet. Not sure if this was from the med or not.
Anyway, the bumps on my hands remain. I think that it is some form of vasculitis. I went to a rheumy (who, surprise surprise, didn't want to hear anything about lyme), but, she ran some more blood tests for lupus, and vasculitis. So, we'll see.
Have you been on any new meds lately? I'm not so sure this was a drug reaction, because I have gotten these bumps on my hands before, but, just one or two. Now I have alot. Next step will be the dermatologist, if nothing comes out of my appointment with the rheumy.

Same here, got them too. They seem to have multiplied on my torso/upper body. Can we get them zapped? I'm not crazy into vanity, but they are starting to bother me.
