It was suggested that our daughter try Chromium Picolinate by her Nd for low blood sugar.
I started her out with a smaller dose as she dose not tolerate many supplements etc.
We noticed on Sunday ( three days after beginning the picolinate) that her pulse was faster.
On Monday, her blood pressure was a tiny bit higher than normal and pulse was over 100.
We stopped the Picolinate after taking 200mcg yesterday morning.
Today, this AM her pulse is 103, lower than the 113, but now feels nauseous and dizzy and had loose stool.. She has not had any Picolinate since yesterday about 11AM.
Does anyone know how long it takes for the Chromium to leave her body?
I have searched the internet, but cannot find much info.
Thanks for any help.

I don't know how long it takes to clear the chromium. But I do know that when I have tried separate supplements of chromium, I felt nauseated. I'm ok if the chromium is part of a supplement containing other nutrients, such as a multivitamin/mineral supplement, though.

- I tried several times over the years but have never been able to tolerate Chromium Picolinate.
I would feel so much sicker on it and I think my blood sugar dropped too low. It tended to make me more "speedy" and more prone to startles. -

I've been taking the NOW brand of chromium picolinate with cinnamon for a long time. I take nearly 1000 mcg daily. It's supposed to speed up the sugar metabolism. I started it to help with sugar cravings but can't tell if it helps or not, though I keep using it.
It's also supposed to help with weight loss. I'm hyper active anyway, so I can't tell if I get 'speedy' or not.
