My dog stone passed away peacefully in front of the wood stove yesterday with my arms wrap around him. He was in so much pain. When he pass there was such peace in his body.
I miss him so much already,,,,,,,but watching that peace come to him effected me. I realized I am so exhausted like he was. Year 3 in treatment and I know my mind is a mess. Feeling so lost and hopeless

I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of stone!
When I was young my first dog was a "German shepherd", she died at 14.
Believe me when I tell you, I still think of her - (all the time) many years later
She too decided to have her last moments next to the stove.
Sometimes it has to get worse before its better when we lose the ones we love.
Hang in there, think about getting another dog. Dogs are our best friends, unconditional love!
Take care of yourself!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. I lost a pet during treatment as well. Pets are complete family members. It's really hard and just adds more sadness to an already difficult time. I'm glad your dog was able to pass peacefully in his home surrounded by love.
I go through times of feeling like it's never going to end either and I'm only a few months into treatment. I find if I just set small goals for myself it helps and gives me something to look forward to.

so sorry for your sadness. It is heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet.
When we lost our sheltie, we were not going to get another pet. We were going to try and travel a bit. That lasted less than a week. Although you can never replace a beloved pet, perhaps another blessing is in order for you. Lord knows there are plenty of animals out there needing love, and it sounds like you have some to give.
Wishing you peace and loving memories!

Also want to mention that having brain problems can be really frustrating. Mine started in my early 30s, now we know it was from the Lyme.
I learned in the past 27 years to go easy on myself, and I'd like to see you do that too. Do what you can, and don't get frustrated at what you can't do or remember. If you had a broken leg, you wouldn't expect to run a marathon, would you?
Just be the best you that you can be, and be happy at all the wonderful things life has to offer. Today the sun is shining, and it's wonderful. However, Rainy days are great for reading and cups of tea. It's all in how you look at it. do something that brings you joy every day. You deserve it!!
Saying prayers for you, and wishing you unexpected blessings!

Thank you every one, just to know others are out there with brain issues brings comfort. I just can not think straight,,,,like my mind is lost in a big pile of sludge.

My brain can feel like sludge sometimes. But when something huge happens like the loss of a pet, it just makes everything ten times harder.
Be good to yourself, try to eat well and let yourself grieve.

My heart goes out to you for the loss of your beloved friend.
My mind is also messed up. I am four weeks into treatment, and sometimes can't remember how to brush my teeth.
I am too new at this to give any advice, but I am praying that you will feel better very soon.

All my Lyme symptoms began just a few months after my BEST friend (a human) died. She was only 23 and passed from a rare form of cancer. And one year later my grandfather died, whom I was VERY close too. And about a year after that one of our beloved cats "Julius" died unexpectedly. I literally walked outside and there he was. He was only 8 years old and had No apparent health issues.
SO needless to say, I feel your pain. I know what you are going through. I am an animal lover, and I know how it is to loose a pet. They are like family and we will always treasure the wonderful memories we have of them.
I'm sorry that you lost your dog!!!!

I am so sorry you lost your wonderful friend and companion. We have one dog left and he is nearly 15. I have 6 horses over 20 and two cats over ten. In 2010 i lost two dogs, two cats and a horse. I was also very sick with babesia which already makes you depressed.
I know that animals go to heaven. I have heard it said that they are the first to meet us when we die and I like to believe that. I have lost many animals over my life. One of them suffered tremendously and I was so heart broken over what happened.
One day, a couple of weeks after her death, I felt her "presence". I felt she was wagging her tail and panting, like she did when she was having fun running through the mountains where we lived. Then she ran off and we were both at peace.
Your brain will get better. In the depths of sorrow you can find so much love.
