So I have been on mepron for quite a while now and still get night sweats ect. I was told by another LLMD (not my regular llmd) that they have had better luck malerone. Anyone have experience with this that could confirm or negate this theory?
I do take the mepron with plenty of fat and have had blood levels to confirm the mepron is being absorbed very well so I am left to wonder why I am not seeing the progress that I think I should be by now.
I also wonder why my current llmd does not have me on zith in addition to the mepron as this seems to be the combination of choice. I am taking biaxin and ceftin as well. Are these a suitable replacement for zith??
I can't agressively treat for the other co's which are also impedeing progress because of the mepron and interactions with other drugs.
Any thoughts?

What dose of Mepron are you taking? Many Lyme doctors have been prescribing a higher dose than previously.
Have you taken Artemisinin before? Have you ever tried A-Bab which is a liquid herbal treatment?
From what I understand, Mepron needs to be taken with Biaxin, Zithromax, or Ketek to be effective. If you are taking Biaxin, it should be fine.
Everyone is different, but for me Malarone did not work at all. If you have not taken it before, it may be worth trying.

Yes, I am on pretty heavy doses of Biaxin as well as another abx. On quite a bit of mepron and have tried A bab which doesnt seem very helpful. Neither doc mentioned Artemesia which I thought was odd.
Recommended doc that has studied under a few of the big hitters. Gotta watch what I say here.....the editors are watching..........

My husband had better luck with malarone than mepron.

I was on mepron for five months and made some progress, Then I switched to malarone with rounds of coartem every 3 weeks or so. That made a huge difference.
I wasn't taking anything for awhile. I just restarted Mepron and I can really feel it. Maybe it is the full moon or the solar flares.
