I unfurled today's edition of our local paper, The Newburyport (MA) Daily News, and saw this article, with a giant photo and caption--above the fold!!

I honestly burst into tears when I saw it. Just sobbed.

Thanks for posting that link.

Overall sure does hit a nerve. There is one major error in the reported where they said that testing is always accurate for anyone who has lyme for a while.

I posted a comment that I hope readers will see. Others can post, too. The more that direct readers to the ILADS, LDA or LymeDisease.org site, the better.

Apparently, my comment did not pass the editors as there is another more recent than mine that has been approved. No ranting. Not sure why it was not approved.

I did not post URLs but did put .org or .com after a few key site suggestions. Hmmm.

Oh geez--I didn't read that part carefully. Shoot, you are right.

I guess I was--and will still try to be--just so pleased that her journey got such good press. And that the myriad ways this disease manifests itself might be better understood--and less often overlooked.

Very interesting to see this local article. At least it was positive in tone. Thanx Julie-MA

The author Angeljean Chiaramida wrote "They (the tests) are almost always reliable for those who have suffered with the disease for six weeks or longer, and especially those with late stage illness,"

Team CDC- 1 point.

Kinda like playing against the Harlem Globetrotters.
