Are you sure you didn't get another bite> BABESIA!

Any of the family of malaria type organisms (blood parasites as opposed to 'normal' bacteria) can cause terrible and constant sweating.

The most common symptoms reported include increased fatigue, joint or muscle pain, skin rashes, photosensitivity, irritability, paresthesia, dizziness, sleep disturbances, asthenia, muscle cramps, night sweats, hypertension, hypotension, headaches (especially migraines) and swollen glands. Also reported are heavy perspiration, metallic taste in mouth, chills, nausea, bloating, constipation or diarrhea, low grade fever, heart palpitations, tachycardia, facial palsy, tinnitus, mental confusion, uncoordinated movement, pruritus, bone pain, flu-like syndrome, conjunctivitis and throat swelling

I would say yes, sweating can be a Herx....Feel better!

When I was fighting Babesia, I looked like a drench machine. There wasn't a paper towel strong enough to wipe it off.

Very embarrassing in public. It was kind of like a hot flash, but just kept pouring..

Boy do I understand the sweating! and I mean sweating!! Like a pig. your right, very embarassing in public. Kept a towel with me at all times to try soak up the water. It does get better. But I had a thought-Is your thyroid levels OK? Too low or high level can make you sweat worse than hot flashes. As we know that is bad sweating!!!Hang in [Eek!]
