I just searched this and there were a few posts with some info about groin pain
I felt like I pulled a groin muscle in early Dec. with pt it got a little better but seems to flare with stiff neck etc. by flare I mean gets worse. It hurts to rotate my leg either way..outwards or inwards. The pain gets worse when the rest of my symptoms get worse. It has gotten really bad over the past few days since I went off abx.
Is this a coincidence or is there a correlation between Lyme and groin pain?
I only wonder because all of my symptoms are much much much worse on my rut side and this is impacting my right leg only.
Thank you!

I know that I am much slower to recover from injuries than I was before Lyme. I often think of Lyme as a disease of inflammation, and if you figure that recently-injured tissue is still in a process of healing and therefore is inflamed, then it makes sense that it would grow MORE inflamed (and therefore more painful) when the rest of your system goes into a Lyme flare. It sounds totally connected to me.
I sprained my ankle three weeks ago, and it's still extremely sore. My lower back, where I've had chronic problems from a herniated disk, used to take a couple of days to get back to normal again...now it takes weeks and weeks. I try to stay on a low-inflammation diet. It seems to help.

There can be a relation. I get right sided groin, pelvic, hip and back pain and one LLMD told me it could be related to bartonella.
I have found out that trigger points cause a lot of the pain. I work with a PT for this.
I broke my ankle 2 years ago and it took forever to heal - turned into RSD and was awful - and that I believe was from lyme!

One of the most common symptoms of (Bartonella)cat scratch disease is painful or swollen glands (lymph nodes). The Groin and hip area do have lymp nodes...
It could also be Mussel spasums, sometimes these take along time to start feeling better!

I treated all this in the swimming pool before I knew I had Lyme. All I knew is I couldn't hardly walk anymore, the muscles were so tight and painful.
It took 9 months. I stretched out every muscle I could find, usually holding onto the ladder or side of the pool.
It was extremely painful in the beginning stretching like this, so I took pain med during these sessions for one month. Then the pain began to ease up, since I was starting to get more circulation in the muscles, and get the lactic acid and whatever else out, so didn't need the med anymore.
I also had a torso float on to hold me up and wore a snorkle and mask so I didn't have to turn my head. I gradually began to swim light laps inbetween the stretching.
That's my first comment. My second is, if you find the right Lyme treatment for you, these symptoms can also ease up.
