Today I had my first appointment with a specialist. He was incredibly kind and one of the best caregivers I've ever come across. Based on my symptoms he said he is 99% sure it is Lyme with a possible coinfection.

We drew blood and are sending it off to the lab, but based on how I feel and what he said I decided to just go ahead and get treatment done. He put me on a glutathione drip for about 40 minutes (can't remember what the dose was, maybe 1400somethings?).

The change was immediate. Halfway through the treatment an excruciating pain in my leg muscles that had progressively gotten worse throughout the morning disappeared entirely. Joint pain stopped, back pain stopped, and most amazingly and encouragingly my brain cleared. I am no longer miserable with my current (really crappy) life situation but seeing it in a hopeful light, my temper has already subsided, I am more cheerful, friendlier..I can't remember when I last felt this way. It's stunning and I cried when I stood up and didn't wince.

Now here's the weird part. About 20-30 minutes after I finished the IV treatment, I got the same excruciating leg pain in both my legs for about half an hour, along with the regular joint pain. Way worse than it had been for a week+. My brain luckily stayed unfogged. Then it all disappeared again and I am still, hours later, feeling great.

My physical symptoms really aren't all that bad, which I now know after reading all these posts on this forum. I really have it lucky, and I feel for the rest of you as it still really sucks. So I was wondering:

If my infection really isn't bad, could this single dose of glutathione have killed a bunch of the little creeps already? Could I herx that quickly after a treatment?

I'm very glad that IV Glutathione helped you feel better. It's a wonderful detox.

But, it doesn't kill anything, reduces your cytokine level.

Ahhh, that wasn't made clear I suppose.

In that case, what could the short bout of extreme pain and then back to great be?

No idea. I can tell you that when I still have viable veins, IV Glut made me feel great for a few hours. The effects don't last long.

So the point of the glutathione is to clean out the body so the antibiotics can really take more effect? I seem to have missed something in all this! Whoops.

I herxed from an iv glut push. First I felt great then cried all the way home from the dr.s office. I felt it was a herx so I looked it up on google. Type in glutathione + herx and you will find it is notorious for producing herx response's.
Everyone I know has herxed from it.
Good LUck
