Which form of doxy have people found the most effective and the easiest to tolerate? I need to take it now for long term, resistant Anaplasma, and have taken regular oral doxy for a short while, and also IV doxy briefly. I know some docs recommend Doryx to save the stomach. One doc recommended Monodox (doxycycline monohyclate), which is also supposed to be easier on the GI tract.
Did taking anything other than the generic doxy make that much of a difference? It is a huge difference in co-pay ($15 or less vs $50 per month!). Thank you.

Doryx has been wonderful for me... I had a hard time with regular doxy with my stomach.... But Doryx is terrific in that regard. I tend to do better with long acting drugs like Bicillin LA and Doryx. There is no comparison for me between mino and Doryx- a much better choice for my needs.
I hope this helps you...

I find the doxy hyclate tablet (Watson) pretty easy to tolerate. Goes down much easier than the caps, less nausea imo..cheap & it works.

Thank you, guys. We decided today to do 100 mg (probably caps), so I can titrate upwards from 100 mg BID, as I get migraines from it when my Lyme load is up, which it is now.

Rumigirl, I agree with skigal and Whitney. I tried the caps you are talking about and they tore up my stomach.
