Please help. I started plaquenil 3 days ago and literally that night I had horrible muscle pain in my low back, gluts and down th back of my legs. And have since had this pain every night (it does not happen in the day just at night so it is not there all of the time).

I was a bit worried so I called the pharmacist and she said stop the meds because it could be a serious side effect. She, said it could be a sign that the medication is building up in the kidneys.

What should I do? Is this a herx or side effect? So difficult to tell.

I have had this type of pain before the meds but not as intense. I also find my mood is a little down.

Supposed to start zithro tomorrow.

Send the LLMD an email. I believe we see the same one, and she is great about responding to email.

Rera - funny that you replied to the thread, I was just going to PM you.

The intense pain in my gluts and legs went away but I now have pain in my neck.

I think it will send her an e-mail.
