My DD, 15, is having the herx from H****. She is an emotional basketcase and defiant!!! OMG, she is horrible. Never went through it quite like this with DS. She is also very tired, woke up today after 8 hours of sleep and went back to bed and slept five more hours!

She is defiant of anything I suggest or offer. Any words of wisdom are greatly apprectiated.

We are taking 100 mg of Minocycline 2xdaily with probiotics and lots of water.

When i had a terrible Bart herx, the only thing that helped me was a product containing L-Arginine. I took a capsule every half an hour till the symptoms subsided. I was suffering for over a week and tied acupuncture and other things. But nothing helped until i took the amino acids.

Hopefully something will help soon, because i know how awful it can be.

Kristen,

Why do you suppose arginine helped?
It's in Buhners new Bart protocol at high doses (though he warns those with Herpes)

I had the same question as LymeToo. Personally I do not think minocycline treats bartonella or BLO.

But if your daughter started at 200 mg from the beginning that is part of the problem.

Mino is one of those meds that can be hard to tolerate. Hubby started at 100 mg every other day for months before increasing to 100 mg daily and then eventually to 200 mg total daily.

I would call the LLMD and try decreasing the dose to see if that will help. And then slowly ramp up the med.

We ramped up to 200 mg. She had previously taken Rifampin with some success.

I hear you guys about the Mino, my LLMD added it to my Zith and Plaquenil at my last visit. He said I needed to add in Rifampin too which I did today.

This is for a Bart relapse. Anyway I herxed for a month straight on the Mino, Zith, and Plaquenil. I had done some posts about it because I was so surprised the Mino was hitting the Bart.

I had started the Zith and Plaquenil on my own because I knew I was relapsing something. I was getting ready to get off abx and was only on Ceftin.
