I had them for a very long time. Never noticed anything really. A little tender where the shot was given but that's it.
take probiotic's at least two hours after the shot.

I've taken them at different stages of my lyme. What I remember most was being so exhausted I could hardly hold my head up.
Mostly just a total and complete lack of energy. I do think it hits different people in different ways though.
Make sure the Bicillin goes in very very slowly so it doesn't burn. Also, I found that sitting on a heating pad afterwards helped with the bum. Good luck. I think it helped a LOT.

Cathy, can you explain more about how they helped if the also made you really tired?
They did the same to me -- made me just overwhelmingly exhausted. BUt I also felt they were helping. I am thinking about resuming but couldn't take that side effect/herx which I've had with other antibiotics too.

nonna, you may recall this recent thread about the bicillin shots:
If you do a search (and spell "bicillin" correctly) you can get a lot more info.

Bicillin is one of my favorites for lyme disease. It always makes me feel much better and seems to move me forward. Having said that, it is also one of the roughest for herx's.
My LLMD warned me that I would likely herx for 6 months and sure enough he was right. Felt horrible, but when the herxing wore off, felt better than I had in a long time.
Would highly recommend bicillin. The shots are painful at first, but not unbearable. One of my top 5 best drugs for lyme.

The Bicillin injections didn't help me at all. I did them for 4 months 3x a week. My LLMD told me I should have felt something by then so he had me stop..it was worth a try though.
I would ice the area before the injection and I never felt them. My husband would inject very very slowly so the fluid wouldn't expand too quickly and cause pain. The best thing to do afterwards is to walk around so the bicillin disperses. I would always go for a short walk and that helped alot...
