My only experience with malarone was purely coincidental, and I think I'm going to ask my llmd for it again! I went on a trip to the Amazon last year, and was put on preventative malarone for malaria - I felt better than I had in a long time after that trip, and thought it was just an effect of being on vacation. Now I'm thinking there was a lot more to it! I had no problems whatsoever with it, and I'm allergic to a lot of stuff.

Malarone did nothing for me, but it has helped some people. Everyone is different.
I hope it helps you!

How much malarone are you prescribed? My oldest son is slowing ramping up from 2 to 6 a day. We are trying to avoid severe herxing while he is in college.
Both my boys herxed more on artemesia than on malarone or mepron.

I take Malarone, can only tolerate one a day right now. I am supposed to take two a day but that is too much pain wise. Not sure if I am herxing or having a hard time with the med itself since I am chemically sensitive, but I know the pain is definitely from the malarone. I am betting I am herxing though. It causes upper and lower back pain, chest pain, neck pain, anxiety, and just a yukky feeling overall. I hate it, but have to hit babs somehow.
