So does anyone else just feel kind of creeped out by having to inject stuff directly into their main bloodstream? How long does it take to get used to this? I worry about every little bubble I see in the line, feel weird about putting that much saline in that quickly... Oh, I should point out that I've always been bad about bodily fluids and can't watch needles go in... I also worry about every little twinge I feel anywhere during the infusion. I assume I'll get used to this at some point?

I think that it is good that you are very conscientious about what you are doing with your PICC line. It is not natural to have to give yourself an IV infusion.
Do you have a friend or family member that can be with you while you flush and infuse your antibiotics for at least a couple days? Maybe having someone else with you would help you feel more confident in remembering what the nurse taught you.

Wendy, are you taking supplemental magnesium? Low magnesium is a common problem with Lyme Disease, and one of the symptoms is anxiety.
