TF- Can Actigall clear up sludge if it there in the first place?
Are there any treatments for a sludgy gallbladder?
Is there a procedure that opens up the gallbladder or something like it that could be tried first?
K is P has not had IV meds. She is recently diagnosed.

You can get rid of the sludge with 3 Actigall per day and Liver/Gallbladder Flushes with magnesium. The Liver/Gallbladder Flushes will also get rid of gallstones---but it must be with ample magnesium.

Bulk, raw herb used for tea, also available by the pound.
Be sure to click onto their "Tropical Plant Database" page for this herb to learn more about its properties and history. Solid third-party research citations.
This large root was one of the first herbs that the Western world imported from China.
It serves as a very reliable laxative, and also has other benefits: enhancing appetite when taken before meals in small amounts, promoting blood circulation and relieving pain in cases of injury or inflammation, and inhibiting intestinal infections.
Rhubarb also reduces autoimmune reactions.
The impact of rhubarb is influenced by how it is prepared; if it is cooked for a long period of time, the laxative actions are reduced but other actions are retained. Typical dosage is 0.5-3 grams per day.
Caution: rhubarb, alone or in formulas, should not be used by those with irritable bowel conditions, as it may cause cramping and diarrhea. . . . -

I was told that you can switch to Claforan and avoid all the biliary sludging. Only problem is that Claforan has to be infused twice a day due to it's half life vs rocephin. It is an alternative and my doctor uses it for just this kind of problem.

If the gallbladder needs to come out, it's not the end of the world.
I had gallstones for years. I had mine taken out last year and now my digestive system actually works more efficiently. I had an easy recovery because I didn't wait til it was an emergency.
However, do everything possible to save that organ...it does serve a purpose.
Hope your daughter feels better soon.

Milk thistle not only protects your liver, it helps it dump bile, which then desludges your liver. It's the only reason I still have my GB. I've stayed on milk thistle for years since I went off antibiotics 7+ years ago. But if I skip my milk thistle (twice a day), I would be in agony. Bad GB's run in my family, and I'm sure mine was a mess before antibiotics.
BUT, I don't have any stone currently, and there are warnings against using it if you already have stones.
