My son takes florinef and midodrine for POTS. We tried more natural stuff and nothing worked. We are hopeful that POTS will go away once Lyme is fully treated. Maybe you can think of it as a temporary fix by going on prescriptions. They do help. A regular heart rate keeps him from fatiguing also.

I have tried almost every prescription med for POTS. I didn't see any relief from them, and I just felt worse because of side-effects.
For me, the thing that has worked the best, it just learning my body. I stand a certain way, get up a certain way, ect. Sometimes when I start blacking out, I have learned just to lean up against something, close my eyes, and take deep breaths.
Staying hydrated is also very important.

I use Magnesium Citrate to control heart issues. I used to have those early morning heart surges as well. The magnesium got me off beta blockers. My daughter had POTS and found that treating babesia and using Cryptolepis helped her the most.

Beta blockers slowed my heart rate and made it impossible to do anything heavy when I was feeling better.
They served their purpose, but it isn't a long term fix. What seemed to sort mine out more than anything was light activity to build my heart back up, Gatorade, vitamins and plenty of water.
Any time I get the slightest bit out of whack, dehydrated, electrolyte imbalance, eat the wrong food too many days in a row, my ticker starts acting up.
