Hi All,

Could you help me with test results interpretation:

IFA AgG,IgM,IgA - negative

IgM WB: 18+,23-25IND,28-,30-,31-,34-,39-,41+,45-,58-,66-,83-93-

IgG WB: 18-,23-25-,28-,30-,31-,34-,39-,41IND,45-,58-,66-,83-93-

CDC and Igenex both consider it WB tests negative

PCR whole blood and serum both are negative

As per my understanding IgM WB is rather positive...

If all those bands were positive, then there is no doubt.

Looks to me like the poster is saying the following were positive:

IgM 18 and 41
IgG none

Indefinite on 23-25 IgM and 41 IgG

Quote from the Western Blot Explanation (above)

"In my clinical experience, if a patient has symptoms suspicious for borreliosis, and has one or more of the following bands, there is a very high probability the patient has borreliosis.

These bands are 18, 22, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 37, 39, 41, 83, and 93.

[---- from DR C's update from 2005 ---
----The significant antibodies, in my opinion, are the 18, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 39, 58, 66 and 93.----]

This is true regardless of whether it is IgG or IgM.. "

You have 18, 23-25, and 41 so that is 3 significant bands. I am assuming you have lyme symptoms. Therefore, it is likely you have lyme disease.

Yes, exactly correct:

positive: IgM 18 and 41; IgG none

Indefinite: 23-25 IgM and 41 IgG

I have symptoms that might be Lyme. They are slowly adding and progressing over the last 6-8 months.

I have coming and going pains on the sides of my neck, shoulders, arms, upper and middle back. Recently added pains in the calves, artralgia in the knee and hip joints. Poor sleep, concentration and memory.

I've been working with primary physician, rheumatologist, neurologist, other doctors - nobody has the answer, some even suggest I'm making it up.

I did camping in WI and IL last 2 summers and for sure was bitten by mosquitoes many times.

I do not remember classical bull eye rush but I'm recollecting strange bluish spot on my knee presumably after the bite 2 or 3 years ago. It was expanding at the beginning then disappeared in a few days. It was solid spot though.

I will see LLMD in mid May first time. I've heard that in Midwest the Lyme could be a little different. Is it true? Can one get it from mosquito bite? What confections should I be tested for?

Thanks, TF. I was indeed confused!!

There are many strains of lyme, all treated the same.

mosquito bites .. I say yes. www.TreatTheBite.com

Any good LLMD will know what to test for. Coinfection testing is worse than Lyme testing. But a good LLMD will treat based on symptoms.
