My friend just gave me an awesome birthday present of a certificate for a 90 minute massage. Is this a good idea to get things moving (and because it will be so nice and relaxing), or a bad idea because it will stir things up too much? Also, I've got a picc at the moment - do I have to wait until that's out? Thanks for your thoughts!

I have found massage helpful, as long as its very light in pressure. I have one scheduled and have a picc... my plan was just to ask the therapist to leave that arm alone, I didn't think it was a big deal otherwise. If it is, I hope someone else chimes in!

You really want to make sure who ever is doing the massage is familiar with lyme. The wrong type of massage could cause you to feel worse. I go to a great massage therapist that is familiar with lyme as well as working on those with fibromyalgia. She is extremely gentle. I usually start my sessions in an infrared sauna. Be sure to drink alot of water before and after your massage.

Also, 90minutes may be alot for your body to handle. Perhaps ask them if you could split it up??
