I have been lyme patient for 17 years and I have been taking combine ab treatment for nearly 3 years. I have also seen bartonella treatment for 8 months. I have most of the symptoms of babesia and I started to take mepron zitromax six weeks ago. After starting to take mepron, my brain fog increased and I started to have difficulty in reading. Moreover, I had a general reluctance together with muscle pain.

Yes, I have heard about babesia herx but I sometimes feel hopeless and some feelings of being unhealed disturb me. However, I think that there is somebody who has lived the same pain I have had and seen recovery after a time. Is there anybody who know about this condition?

All I can tell you is that I got worse when I started the Mepron and zith for a few weeks and then it got a bit better. This whole thing cycles so symptoms will occur every few weeks.

I am now also on rifampin for Ehrlichia and Bartonella. Rought stuff, but you just have to find ways to detox the herx. I finally had to go on IV rocephin to get the brain working again. Still no where near where I should be, but there are glimpses of clarity now and then now.

ahmet, treating Babesiosis can be difficult. For me it is the worst infection.

It does sound the meds are working. I know it is frustrating to feel worse during treatment. It takes time, but yes you can get better.

Hang in there okay?

Sure ahmet [Smile]

When you are herxing badly, you may want to ask your doctor if it is okay to take a break from your meds for a couple of days.
