- It's best to consult with an ILADS-educated LL (lyme literate) doctor who has completed four years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -
- and someone who is current with ILADS' research & presentations, past and present. -----------------------
Integrative / Holistic M.D., etc. (Be aware that those in this category can have various levels of formal herbal &/or nutritional education, perhaps even just a short course. Do ask first.)
Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:
Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures;
Knowing that support supplements are important, but NEVER enough alone. And knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.
& WHY you need an ILADS-educated, Lyme Literate Doctor (whether LLMD or LL ND, or both) -

- It is seldom just one single herb or nutritional supplement as, even with those, it's usually the combination and rotation that finally wins the day.
Often, a LL ND will also incorporate antibiotics or other Rx (although licensing to prescribe Rx differs by state).
While best to find a LL ND, as you wait for an appointment, you might want to start looking at these three different approaches: ---------------------------------------------
Buhner ("Buh" is pronounced as first syllable of "beautiful") highlights various herbs - along with fabulous explanations of how lyme & other tick-borne or stealth infections work.
I learned so much from this book, even aside from the herbal detail. ----------
If there is an olympics for chronic disease medical data and information retrieval you would win hands down!!!

Most of what I post has been from my search for success (still in process) - and some from my own experiences.
I just keep my personal research files in my computer. Then my "copy & paste" mode takes over. The real work has been done by those who actually write the articles.
Most of what I post is the same stuff, over and over. But, each time, I also tend to either learn something new or am reminded of something I should - or should not - be doing.
It's sort of a puzzle-solving exercise. Glad to see the information may be of help along this rocky road.
Just hope access to experts (and whatever treatments & approaches work) becomes better for everyone. -
