My LLMD is changing up my treatment plan. I have been on IV Vanco for about 6 weeks now. I haven't really had side-effects and have even noticed subtle improvement.

I have had to take a little break due to high liver enzymes but haven't had problems since.

He was planning on adding IV Flagyl. (Wasn't going to pulse either one). It would have been too much time, and I was scared about it being too intense. We decided to go the Oral route, and he changed his mind to oral Tindamax.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am a little nervous about it!

Oh, and he is increasing my IV Vanco from 1 gram 2x/day to 1.5 gram 2x/day as well.

Oh, I think you'll love that combo. Tindamax has been wonderful to me as long as the dose is high enough. Yes, you'll be real tired at first but I think you'll start to see improvement pretty quickly. My energy started to improve on day 4. Keep us posted.

It took 20 years to find out I'm not crazy.
New bite in 2010 pushed my body over the edge. Positive for lyme, babs, bart, and myco.

I am kind of confused with the avoiding alcohol aspect. Do you know what it does and why?

I am upset about not being able to use hand sanitizer! Although, I will have to use rubbing alcohol for my infusions.

You can continue using hand sanitizer when you take Tindamax. Just like you can (and should) use alcohol pads to clean your injection caps before any infusions.

Don't drink alcoholic beverages, that will make you sick. Mouthwash with alcohol in it might also be strong enough to cause the nausea or even vomiting reaction so do avoid that.

I am taking 500mg/day with 3g/day of IV vanco. What are usual side-effects of the tindamax? What kind of herxing should I expect?

Right now, all my muscles are aching a lot worse than usual.

Thanks for input!

IV Vanco was my lyme miracle drug. I LOVED it! I did it for 5 months and got my memory back 100% along with other benefits. I wish I would have stayed on it longer. Get on it and stay on it as long as you can.

Tindimax is also great! I got a lot of improvement from both.

Thanks for the input! I have previously tried IV Rocephin, and that messed me up big time. I did oral Doxy for a while, but I started having swallowing issues.

I think I have gotten kind of stuck with the Vanco. I don't feel bad or good. Either that or the positive change is so subtle. I think this Tindamax is whipping things up good though.

Can you have emotional herxes on Tindamax?
