As if Lyme wasn't challenging enough... [loco]

My team of docs suggests I have my amalgams removed and root canals evaluated in addition to continuing Lyme treatment.

I have had consultations with two IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology)-certified dentists who supposedly remove mercury amalgams safely. But, I'm leery of the detox/recovery programs they suggest.

Does anyone have first-hand experience with the Huggins Clinic? Or, information about professionals who might honestly practice SAFE amalgam removal?

Thanks! [confused]

Before I knew I had Lyme I thought I was mercury toxic. I got tested using DMPS infusion and the 6 hour challenge test. The lab was Doctors Data. I was 700 percent over the max for mercury and above max for a couple of others.

I got all kinds of quotes from biological dentists, one a Huggins trained dentist, and talked with my current dentist. My current dentist worked by quadrants, used a dam and an isolight that evacuates the gas during the removal.

I took oral DMSA and chlorella before and after each visit and once a months did a DMPS infusion. I also did a lot of buffered Vitamin C powder twice a day.

This may not be the ideal way to have it done but I could not afford the cost for removal, travel and time off work to have it done out of town. In town the bio dentists were 3 times the cost of my current dentist because they did not accept my insurance.

My toxic metals are down considerably, my heavy metal symptoms seem to be resolved and I am just dealing with Lyme and Bart (just!). I am sure the removal of the heavy metals has helped my lyme treatment to improve.

Early on, I did try the Cutler Protocol but found it to difficult to stick with and working full time. Note that my DO was trained on heavy metal removal from Dr K in about 2003.

I had to make a considerable compromise in my approach but it has worked so far. It took about 30 months to remedy 16 fillings and 2 root canals.

I have had 18 DMPS chelations and will check my load on the 20th one. So we will soon see where I am.

All the Best, MattH
