I feel crazy, but I know I'm not. Please help me figure this out!

I got badly burned on my hands from Doxy, so I am no longer on that (taking Azith instead now). My hands are recovering from the severe sunburn I got 2.5 weeks ago - the blisters have popped, the burn has scabbed up, and everything is peeling.

One symptom remains - numb(-ish) fingernails. I've decided that the fingernail beds aren't necessarily numb, but rather I think the cuticles (where the fingernail goes into the skin 3/4" down from the tip of the finger) is numb. So when I press on the tip of the fingernail, the cuticle area feels weird/sensitive.

Have I burned my fingernails? Will I ever get normal sensation back? What on earth is going on with them?

Thanks for any info you can give me. I searched here for "sunburn finger" and found some info, but not quite what I was looking for, and nothing quite like what I'm experiencing. Surely I'm not the only one to have experienced this?

Doxy is just horrible that way. I like the stuff, but you have to do a vampire routine if you're on it.

I 'burned my fingernails' several times, and it can take weeks to go away. Hang in there, they should get better.

Thanks, tickbitt. I do feel like a vampire, even just recovering from the sunburn and needing to stay out of the sun!

Alright, I'll keep being patient. I guess I'm most worried that I'll lose my fingernails. LOL I pray not!
