I seem to have been herxing with every dose of abx for 2 weeks strait. Just started my first bit of treatment 4 weeks ago.

Just wondering if any one else has had a worsening of symptoms for 2 weeks or more when first starting treatment and do some herx on every dose? I can actually often feel the meds hit

How long can a herx or worsening of symptoms last for when first starting treatment?

Maya it's different for everyone. It depends on how long you have been infected, what you have for infections, if you have the genes that don't detox well, how aggressively you are treating...there are a lot of factors with this. There is no normal.

Can increased anxiety be part of a herx?

Yes, anxiety is a big part of herxing, it was for me anyway. You are treating so it's a good sign that you are herxing, that means the treatment is working. Hang in there Maya.

Are you taking anything to bind to the toxins? Activated Charcoal works well. You can take up to 3 grams at a time. Take it a couple of hours away from abx because it will bind to them.

You might be getting worse because you aren't detoxing well, that is what happened to me.

Hey rc1 thanks for your reply , I am taking charcoal but was initially only taking like 500 Mgs of it so I have upped that to 1000mgs a day. I am also taking chlorella and lemon water. So I guess I am detoxing ok

Can herxing also give you more brain fog and make you feel more stupid and confused?

Did you see my post on how Dr. H. has his patients detox?

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/117269

Detox is the solution to making herxes mild.
