Looking for anyone who has had ehrlichia and can give me some ideas. My 22 yr old daughter we believe has it. Her LLMD thinks she was biten again and has contracted it. Has had very high liver enzymes, swollen Lymph nodes, low blood plaelets and low white count, spotty rash on foot, leg, thigh and now chest. Can't find anyone with any sugestions or info on the best way to treat. She is currently on doxy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Doxy is the treatment for it. Supposedly, 100 mg twice a day is sufficient, but I know people who need a higher dose and a longer treatment, like myself. But I've had it forever, not just acute as your daughter is.

See Dr. B's guidelines in a sticky at the top, he talks about it there. It's no fun. It sounds like she has a bad case of it. Make sure that she gets checked for all the other infections, too.

I have it (clinically diagnosed). The biggest problem it caused for me was raising my liver enzymes so high that I couldn't take most meds even with lots of liver support and detox.

When I went on doxy 200mg per day my enzymes dropped very quickly and have so far stayed low. That was about a month ago. I haven't tried switching off doxy yet, so I don't know if it's fully gone.
