Not on any thyroid meds, though my LLMD has said in the past I've tested slightly hypo a couple of times and I might want to try armour thyroid.
I think I'm in the middle of some kind of flare where I'm hyper one hour and hypo the next. Horrid palpitations for days and fast pulse after I eat. Then hours later I get to the point where I'm too weak to even get off the bed.
Fortunately I'm on a beta blocker which has kept it in some control. Also on Babs treatment.
Am I wrong in thinking armour thyroid is not a good idea if you are having flares of hyper?
What helps shake this miserable feeling?
Thanks

Honestly, those were my first symptoms of Lyme and Co-infections last summer (they got worse with Lyme and Babesia treatment).
I'm guessing you have Hashimoto's, which is the autoimmune disease in which your immune system attacks your thyroid.
Sometimes your immune system is more fired up than others, so it is possible to swing from one extreme to the other, but in my experience it's more a matter of days at one extreme, rather than hours. Also, the "hyper" times tended to be when I had the flu, while the "hypo" came directly afterward.
I've been on synthroid for Hashimoto's for a couple of years now, so I can tell what hypo vs hyper feels like for me.
I really felt like I was swinging violently from hypo to hyper during the first couple months of Lyme symptoms. So much so that my first stop was the Endo, because I was sure my thyroid was going crazy.
I think it's because your body is trying to regulate itself (temperature especially) which is the same thing that happens with thyroid.
Honestly, if your levels aren't too far off, I'd just leave it alone for now. Or, you could try a tiny dose of T4 (T4 is much, much milder than T3; Armour contains both), like half of the .25mcg tablet.
Of course, I'm no doctor, but it's really tricky to distinguish between thyroid symptoms vs Lyme symptoms since both affect the whole body.
