I'm only 23 years old and single, but my current boyfriend really wants to get engaged. Part of my issue is that I have Lyme disease. He really wants children and I'm afraid of passing it on to my babies.

Since I'm not yet married, I want to research the topic now, before I ruin a marriage if I choose not to bear children.

Advice? Is there any proven way to have a child without Lyme (other than adopting)?

It is possible to have healthy babys. Antibiotics are taken during the pregnancy, I think the typical one given is amoxicillin.

Chlorella is taken to clean up the breast milk as I have heard transmission is 4 times likely in breastfeeding.

Yes it is possible. Many on this site will warn you otherwise.

Many of the best LLMD's say as long as you are on 2 abx during the ENTIRE pregancy and breastfeeding time, then transmission is not likely.

Usual drugs are omnicef with Zithro. Or Bicillin/Amoxicillin with Zithro.

I just had a baby on April 5th. So far so good and he has no signs of infection. I took 2 abx (omnicef and zith) along with some other things throughout the pregnancy.

I also have a 12 year old who has lyme which we suspect he got from me. I will say that there was signs early on. I just didn't know at the time it was lyme.
