If that link doesn't work, go to: http://www.anh-usa.org and click on the link about the Durbin bill. Or cut and paste the url.
It takes you to a page with the Alliance for Natural Health (very reputable) with info on the bill and the capability to send a letter to your senators immediately.
They are sneaking in a bill today with an added amendment that would make ALL supplements completely illegal in 30 days, if the manufacturers can't meet their requirements in that time! Act pronto and send it on to others. They may vote late today, too, so don't think it's too late. It never ends.
[Sorry, Mods, this it immediate, so no time to post it under Activism or General Support.]

"Victory! Sen. Durbins Anti-Supplement Amendment DEFEATED!
May 24, 2012
Natural health advocates spoke out in huge numbersand we won! Our readers sent nearly 90,000 messages in less than 24 hours, and Congress heard you. Sen. Durbins anti-supplement amendment was soundly defeated today, by a vote of 77 to 20.
This was an important win. If Sen. Durbins last-minute, under-the-radar amendment had passed, our access to vitamin and dietary supplements would have been drastically curtailed due to a litany of unexpected and unnecessary new regulations. A big thanks to Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Tom Harkin (D-IA) for standing with us.
Durbins failed amendment serves as another reminder that our freedoms need to be preserved. Freedom of access to our own healthcare choices may be under threat, but today we wonthanks to YOU!"
Yeah!!! We did it! These attacks keep coming regularly, however.

I just saw this post today. Thank God!
How scary these things that go on without our knowing, yet could have HUGE impact on our lives. It is criminal and should be illegal. I'm really disgusted...
Thanks for posting.

Yes...the ammendment was defeated yesterday! Thank God (really).

That guy is likely in bed with pharma. = Big business that also was involved with SOPA (along with the film and music industry)...and would have censored the internet here.

Interesting that they tried to sneak this in during the last minute of the beginning of a holiday weekend.
They keep trying to hit us with this stuff little by little, in increments. It's annoying.

- We might want to see who cosponsored this - and who supported it.
" . . . Senate has rejected the Durbin and Blumenthal amendment (Amendment No. 2127) to S.3187, . . ."
Richard Blumenthal (CT) was the co-sponsor.
That was a very sad surprise, given his awareness about chronic lyme. I assumed such awareness would also lead to awareness that nutritional support methods are so very important to many of us - and that we can use our own intellect to make solid decisions, along with our health providers.
Ditto:
"A big thanks to Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Tom Harkin (D-IA) for standing with us." -
