Parasites in the G.I. track will gobble up nutrients. You might want to mention doing parasite tx with your doctor.

Yes the parasite thing is a good place to start.
I also had malabsorption issues. It turned out I had a small bowel overgrowth and we treated it with 2 weeks of Cipro and then I have been taking digestion GB from pure encapsulations to help digest food. It is digestive enzymes and Bile salts.
Lyme causes low stomach acid and permits bacteria and parasites into the GI tract. I also supplement with betaine hcl during meals to increase stomach acid.

In some situations dehydration can cause sodium.
It is not one of the more recognized reasons for low sodium but maybe you could mention it. I actually had low sodium from being dehydrated. I also was not having diarrhea or vomiting or the other things I mentioned. Just to many antibiotics with not enough water intake.
I now do 500 ml iv lactated ringers every other day.
What about your Picc if they are not waisting enough blood after they flush the line it will dilute your sample.

I collapsed and was admitted to hospital recently..... my Sodium level was 121... dangerously low.
Doctor said it was due to Inappropriate ADH secretion ( ADH balances sodium levels ) and that this could have been caused by the Doxycycline I was on.
Looking back , I realise I have been having Hyponatremic symptoms for a long time.... similar to low blood sugar, but not resloved with glucose ingestion. A random sodium was 124 at one time.
Anyway, now I take salt tablets and don't overdo the fluids. feel much, much better.
