My friends dog is hot positive for Lyme disease. The vet is treating with 30 days of doxy. Does anyone have any good info or experience on Lyme in dogs? Any good LL Vets? Any info on coinfections in dogs? Thanks for any help provided.

Here are some articles by vets about treating animals for Lyme and tick borne diseases.

Hope it helps and the doggie is better soon!

My Golden has had lyme and co.'s almost every year of her life.. She is 6 years old.

I consider my vet to be LL - I sometimes wish he were an MD.

Anyway, my golden has had Erlichiosis and needs to be treated with 400 mg.s if she has that co. (she is 63 lbs.).

Our Vet usually treats lyme for 6 weeks at 300 mgs.

Untreated lyme and Erlichiosis can cause kidney damage in dogs if left untreated.
