I started taking HCL tonight. just one capsule

im not having any stomach problems from it but I feel VERY HERXY.

it made have go to the bathroom. the first time i went to the bathroom unconstipated in a long time

but i feel like im herxing. i feel VERY fluish-with a weighed down tired feeling. almost like how i felt when i treated lyme at first...

IS THIS NORMAL??
how weird!

UPDATE!!!!!!

within a few hours of taking it. (about 2 or 2 1/2 hours ) I started getting brain fog. soreness. and feeling very tired and out of it

it seems an obvious herx is happening

When I take anything with chloride ion, I have a herx reaction. If you Google chloride detox or chloride ion detox, you will find plenty of info.

One link had an ebook that discussed the shunting of chloride ion to detox reactions in the chronically ill, resulting in a deficiency of available chloride ion to produce stomach acid (HCl).

Based on my responses to chloride ion and our population's typical HCl deficiency, I thought the book had some interesting insights, though I don't know that it was backed by substantial research.

BTW, many electrolyte solutions have minerals bound to chloride. I often have detox reactions to electrolyte solutions.

Hydrochloric acid. Necessary for good digestion.

In addition to digestion.....according to what Marnie has posted, it's one of the things the body needs in order to assimilate some B vitamins. Had me wondering if that was part of my problem with absorbing my Bs. I started taking it recently. We'll see where it leads.

Lymegal, I can't respond to your PM's when your mailbox is full. I don't know the answer to this question. Sorry.

Sometimes people feel bad after a bowel movement, even when they're not sick, especially if they haven't gone in a while. Sorry you feel bad.

I hope you can find a gifted doc who can help put your gut back into working order. You clearly have a lot going on. Someone, preferrably who does ART testing, needs to help you with the right supps, homeopathic remedies, diet recommendations, etc. Sounds like parasites need to be majorly addressed, imo.

I just started working on my gut and feel I am on the right track. Within the 1st week I had crazy night sweats (something I never do) and weird rashes. Now all that has settled down.

I hope you can find someone to help you, Feel better.

Boxer Mom - Have you ever tried green coconut water instead of the commercial electrolyte solutions? When my BF had Swine Flu, it was the only thing he could keep down.

I can't stomach Gatorade, as to me, it tastes like cold sweat - aside from being loaded with artificial colors, which I avoid.
