I've lurked and lurked and every time my symptoms come back I lurk some more.

Bit on July 4th 2010, got a clinical diagnosis in NOvember 2011.

4 months of antibiotics and 40 pills a day of supplements got me feeling pretty good. Good enough to work again.

Just when I think I've beat this thing....the burning in knees, hands and feet come back.

It is weird. Every 4 weeks the bite reappears and then I get symptomatic for 4 to 5 days.

Is there anything I can do to stop it in its track when I am symptomatic.

Ive done doxy, azith and flagyl to get to this point. Trying to avoid more ABX.

I weaned myself from everything but pure pack of vitamins and Argentyn Silver twice a day. I guess I need something else but not sure what.

Your wise words are so much appreciated!!

Best,

Yes, get back on antibiotics... find an LLMD who will treat you for at least two months PAST the disappearance of all symptoms.

You also need to be checked for coinfections which may be holding you back. But clearly, you are still ill.

I guess deep down, I knew that I need ABX.

Thank you for responding. I feel like such a burden on my husband and kids with all my issues.
THank God for Lymenet. Us lurkers get relief from you all!

Unfortunately, I never saw an LLMD, I've trusted a holistic DR who is also an MD with my care.

From all the books I've read about Lyme, he seems to be doing all the right testing....Thyroid, adrenals, coinfections.

I often think of all the others who are suffering so much more than I am and I pray that you will all find answers.

ANyone know the proper dose of Doxy for someone who weighs 108?

Maybe I need a lower dose?

Find an LLMD!!!

I doubt you should go DOWN on the dosage if you are still ill.

You need to see a real LLMD.

You are lucky that your doc began you on some treatment, but unresolved symptoms are proof that what you have taken, has not remediated the infection.

Go to "Seeking a Doctor" thread and post by state of residence.

BTW, Borrelia Burgdorferi only replicates about once a month. It is believed that the Bb is only susceptible to antibiotics while it is undergoing replication.

Patients often report a "flaring" of symptoms every 28-30 days, which is likely why you are seeing the returning symptoms/rash when you are.

Keep a log of the dates when you experience this, and you may be better able to target the bug in future with your LLMD, and better able to plan your life around times when you can expect to feel lousy.
