I take it either with breakfast (usually an egg with cheese on it) or with a few macadamia nuts or a piece of cheese. At dinner time with a meal that has ghee, olive oil or cheese added to it somewhere.

It is working, headaches have decreased. On it since end of January.

8 months here too. I take it after a meal. If there wasn't enough fat in the meal, I have a spoonful of peanut butter. I have no idea how long i will have to take it. But I would like to stop tommorrow!

It's taken me a few weeks to figure out. My head and stomach were a mess without enough food. I was told it wasn't absorbing well.

I now take with:

Fried egg sandwich - an egg, a little cheese, and avocado on a toasted brown rice tortilla or with a piece of brown rice toast.

Brown rice toast with peanut butter.

Brown rice with grilled veggies and chicken or salmon. I cook with olive oil.

Grilled chicken with rice, cheese, fresh salsa, and guacamole.

I substitute quinoa for the rice sometimes. Add olive oil and sea salt for taste. I make my grilled veggies and chicken in batches so I can just heat it up when I need it. Cooking daily is really hard right now.

I try to take it about 12 hours apart which is often not convenient to meals. Also it occurred to me that maybe the carbs were not a good idea but don't know. So I take it with heavy cream and/or nuts.

Carbs are NOT good if you want to stay away from another major problem: yeast.

I will be adding Mepron to my tx. next Monday. Feedback on side effects, if any? I will be starting 1 tsp. 2x day, then after 5 days, if I tolerate well, will increase to 1.5 tsp 2x day. I was advised to take with a fatty meal as well.

Our daugher takes the mepron twice a day, after a meal (breakfast / dinner).

She uses a plastic syringe to draw it out of the bottle (at $880 a bottle for one month it is our yellow gold) and squirts it to the back of her throat.

Then takes water into the syringe a couple of times and squirts it in to ensure the complete dose.

Can't really tell what the side effects are. She is scheduled to come off the meds (mepron and zith) this coming Monday. Just about 25 months without missing a day of this combo.

Hi noona:

Thanks, we believe she is over the lyme and co infections (time will really tell once she is off the meds). She is so much better and you all know the pain and suffering associated with the TBD's.

Our LLMD has keep her on this med protocal after some other lyme med issues. Even after we believed the babs was gone (but lyme symptoms persisted). I haven't read of others on 2+ years of mepron / zith.

Yes it is twice a day early morning and right after dinner (mepron requires some fat which is why she takes it after a meal).

Fortunately she did not have bartonella.

I take 1 tsp twice daily, the only thing that helps me with the nausea is taking it with natural peanut butter.

Thank you all/

Was it a big "TURN the CORNER" med for you??/

Anybody do Plaquenil with it?//
How abot GSE???

I was originally told from a member that it took six months and then she could just notice better days.

I'm sorry if I seem Anxious,, I have a very short window to either make plans to see Triplets or let another big event pass me by..

Either way it will be hard on me and that doesn't help healing process at all//

So I just want to make sure I'm doing it right...
Also have seen a few post that the doses are being increased ...is this just a ,per situation , or kinda the new norm??

It does get hard looking at that yellow muck, but if it does the trick , so be it..
Thank you, Nonna

I take it with zith and minocycline. I just started it a few weeks ago, I have had better days, but also started cortef and armour thyroid so not sure which is helping.

Nonna, for me the change has been VERY gradual, to the point that I don't feel anything until I realize every month or so, "hey I'm better than I was 6 weeks ago!"

Still treating, still sick, but turning monthly corners.

-8 months of Mepron. I'll take it as long as I can. I think it has been a big help in treating.
