if you are allergic to insects can you get bitten and have a reaction like a lyme bite? the migrans circle type thing.

would spiders, bugs, insects bite the same way? causing just one specific area?

My understanding is that erythema migrans is diagnostic for Lyme, however anything is possible. Since lyme is actually a clinical diagnosis that is made after considering many factors, I'd consult a doctor about it. When I had the classic Lyme rash, I immediately got antibiotics. They were not effective and I have had many treatments since then and am now, 2 years later, much better. I'd err on the side of safety. Have someone take a look at it. In addition, take a picture of the rash. I did, and months later the doctors I saw didn't have to wonder what it looked like. I could show them.
Good luck to you :-)

The biggest difference between a Lyme rash & an allergic reaction, whether it be to an insect bite (or contact w/ a poisonous plant) is that:

with Lyme, the area slowly spreads substantially outwards over a few days & has a "front" (perimeter) to it.
That is, the center will not appear the same as the edges.

The insect bite "reaction" can get larger, yes, but *usually* not more than a couple inches across. And it's consistently red... & usually raised.
Then it fades out like it appeared.

Also, an insect bite "rash" will diminish with a deflammatory drug like Benadryl, whereas a Lyme rash won't.
