I'm having this horrible chest tightness and what feels like maybe rib tightness. My upper chest just feels so tight that I feel like there is a band around it.

Anyone else have this? I had an EKG a couple of days ago, so I am hoping my heart is ok.

Maybe asthma?

I did have this for months. It was awful. My LLMD thought it was mycoplasma and put me on herbs for mycoplasma and it has since disappeared. I was also on diflucan daily, so not sure which got rid of the chest pain - diflucan or the herbs?

I am grateful it is gone!! I ran to my cardiologist several times in fear that I was having a heart attack and my heart was always perfect.

I have 2 LLMDS - one local, one I travel to see... and both agreed mycoplasma remained a problem.

Could also be babesia? I also tested positive for babesia.

I had been thinking that, and am planning on seeing a Pulmonologist asap. I was negative for asthma 4 years ago, but I'm not sure if that matters or not.

Also, I am not so much short of breath today, but it feels like my chest and ribs just refuse to move.

Is it a crushing, elephant sitting on your chest pain? I had that and pain when I would exhale. An overall tightness is how I would describe it too.

Whatever I've done over the past couple of months, it is gone.

Now that I'm treating with coartem for babesia, I am feeling the tightness creeping back in, but not nearly as bad.

It is related to one of your infections and most likely not asthma. I always felt so silly when my cardiologist could not figure out why my chest hurt so much.I felt like I should be hospitalized - it was so painful.

The chest tightness was an issue for me for quite awhile. The doctors found no heart problem. Sometimes I couldn't stand to have any tight clothes on.

It got better with treatment. It was still coming back in a cycle, but fortunately it hasn't been around for awhile.

Lots of those with lyme get chest pain. Of course, it's always best to have it checked out -- to make sure your heart is ok.

Jwall - It's like a combination of the elephant sitting on my upper chest and tightness, like I have spandex on or something.

This, at the same time I have burning in my throat whenever I take a breath.

It may be costochondritis which is caused by inflammation. Do a search and you will find more information.

Try anti inflammatories like high dose omega 3's, tumeric, Inflavanoid Intensive Care by Metagenics, systemic enzymes, etc.

this tightness/pulling felt as though giant rubber bands were being pulled across my chest. i also had this sensation in my neck and across my stomach. sometimes it feels uncomfortable like my skin might actually burst from being stretched; other times it is very painful. it is gradually getting better with antibiotics (in both frequency and severity). good luck!
