so i have been on treatment for just under two months and all i seem to do is get worse and worse.
since starting treatment i have been much worse than i was before ever starting treatment and the herxing, if thats what it is, just never seems to get better or let up.
i always feel down and depressed and anxious and sick all over
shouldn't i be having some slightly better times by now after two months of treatment, shouldn't the herxing let up at some point and then i feel better.
i am getting so discouraged and feel i am just falling deeper and deeper from sanity and life and i am so scared.
is this a bad sign that i just feel so bad all the time but never have releif or see any improvement?
please give me some encouragement.i really need it.

At two months I still needed help walking!!
You have to have hope. I always KNEW I would get better. Not getting better was not even a remote thought in my head. With that attitude I did everything I could to get well, and I did.
It takes years, unfortunately, not weeks. You will have life return during those years, but to get competely well, it's years.

It is a long road. I'm also still at the beginning. I'm on a roller coaster. A bad week (or month), a bad herx, bad emotions, then I have a good few days and think...." Yes, some day all this crap will end and I will be me again." God gives me a ray of hope.
But depression, frustration, loneliness, pain.... It seems like too much sometimes.
I also declined tremendously for the first 3 months (on herbs), then continued to herx off and on for the next 2 (on abx). Now 5 months in I'm having my first "good" week. Of course this doesn't mean pre-lyme good, but again, it is a glimpse of how things will continue to improve.
It's a really slow process. Most illness recoveries are measured in weeks. Lyme and co's are measured in months.... But like six said, I KNOW I will get better...
If you are truly in despair, you need to talk to your dr about anti-depressants/anti-anxiety medicine and counseling therapy. They pulled me through a very difficult time a couple of years back when I felt like I was going to lose my mind.
You WILL get through this. You WILL be pre-lyme Maya again. You can PM me anytime you need to talk....

Maya, it takes a LOOOONG time. part of the process is getting the right doc. I went through quite a few substandard docs in the process. But it has been 2 years for me, and I have been improving steadily for the past 8 months. depending on how sick you are, improvement can be slow and unnoticeable at times. But it does get better. 2 months is not very long at all. this is a good resource, so keep coming to this site.
And yes, it will get worse before it gets better. Just keep going.

Maya12, if you were not feeling worse and worse after treating, then you'd have something to worry about.
This is a good sign, it shows that you are in fact responding to treatment.
Hang in there it will get better.
