In the USA, who is the most knowledgeable on ACA?
Well, I think this is what I've had now for over 10 years. Everything I have read and seen about it seems to point to this. I read about it in the past, but the literature at the time always said it's only in Europe, so I moved on. Well, now I read there ARE cases in USA. I have been to MANY caribbean islands, and bit by 30-40+ mosquitos on my honeymoon one day.
Been treating for Lyme for over 2 years and it's not helping, in fact, the skin has worsened with treatment. I've aged tremendously in 2 years! My face, my hands, my arms & legs where these large rashes come and go.
Has anyone here seen a LLMD that has cured this? Did it reverse?
What treatments did you do exactly?
Any topical creams help? I've used pure coconut oil for a long time and it's not helping.
Are there any herbals that help?
So depressing I'm having evil thoughts about giving up. I don't want to look freaky, I'd rather be.....
I plan on showing my paperwork on this to my doctor this week to get her thoughts.

I have ACA.
Was sick with Lyme for about 4 years before I was properly diagnosed and started treatment.
A few months after diagnosis I went to my regular dermatologist for a routine skin check. I am fair complected, this is recommended every couple years for prevention/detection of skin cancer.
Anyways, she noticed the ACA patches right away. (She was excited to see this, sad!) I have them near my ankles. Worst is my Right side. I also had the beginnings on my knees and one elbow.
With treatment my knees and elbow seem to have stopped progressing and actually look a little better.
The ankle areas are much more severe. I've been told that the tissue will not return to normal. All we can do is stop the progression. Antibiotic treatment is necessary to do this.
Any LLMD should be able to treat you. Treat the Lyme infection and you will treat ACA.
Hang in there OK. Find a new doc if you need more aggressive or more well rounded treatment.

If you are still with Dr. M, that could be the problem. She still has a lot to learn.
We have a great new doc in D.C. now who is really top notch. Let me know if you want the name.
