I had to stop mepron due to sudden onset of depressive/hopelessness.and increase anxiety. Im day five off it, and today I have been feeling horrible, pain all over, anxiety, burning feeling inside my body like i drank acid, air hunger like crazy, my heart feels like it's skipping beats then racing at other times, my head feels funny....pressure and numbness, and im dizzy and nauseous.

now i also notice my face is swelling up a little, on the sides. Im on cortef and armour thyroid..can either cause that?

just started both a few weeks ago. im also taking zith and mino...along with supplements.

I want to go off everything at this point. I think I felt better before I started treating. Im really at a loss......every time i make progress I get zapped backwards...Im so over it. [Frown]

Ask your LLMD about alternative treatments for babesia.
There are other meds and a few natural herbs that are effective.

The depression can affect some people so very badly, it's not good to keep going with mepron.

Babesia sucks, but you can beat it! The anxiety you have makes me wonder if you have bartonella, as well.

mino can cause dizzyness, esp in women. But that may not be the cause. And you need to take something. Yes, it sounds like you need something else for babesia, and possibly for Bartonella, but probably not target that now.

Detox is key: lemon water, coffee enemas, etc. That is essential while you are killing off everything.

Please be patient. It takes time, and it is normal to have plenty of really tough times. Keep coming here for help and solace.

Treatment can be a bear but please don't give up.

When I couldn't handle mepron (liver issues), doc put me on Byron White A-bab. It definitely got me better.

I also think Humaworm played a big part in my getting through the first level of babs. So, don't forget about parasite treatment. There is a lot of chatter about parasite treatment on these boards. It is a component that should not be overlooked.

I'll say a prayer for you.

I'm with jackie. I recently started Humaworm and am seeing some improvement. It seems to be helping. I would wait until you're on some better meds for you though (that way you can nail it down).

I will look into parasite treatment..thanks. as far as antibiotics I just feel like Im done...I've been on zith for 15 months, and and tried a bunch of others....mino for at least 8 mos.

also going off the cortef, my face is still puffy today and I think it's got that side effect.

The heart stuff is scary. I know zith can cause that, and I was on double dose of zith 500 mg 2x a day...so Im thinking maybe this is what caused the heart stuff. I just think there has to be a better way than all this. What damage am i doing to my body by all these antibiotics. And Im no where near better.

I dont want to do this anymore. Im tired of it all. Thanks for the encouragement....I really appreciate it more than you know.

That's a lot of zith. When I took it, I took 600 mg once a day. I thought that was a lot.

This disease and the meds can cause mental problems. It is not you, do not let it take over.

You'll get through this and feel better than you can ever remember.

Jennifer, I completely understand. Abx aren't for everyone. I had so many problems when I was on abx. I finally took the plunge and went to a well known doc. I sat there quietly until he suggested I go on Byron White (herbal drops).

I was so happy he suggested trying herbs (wasn't expecting it). I always wanted to try the herbal route. I was quite surprised to hear that they really do work for some people. I've been on them for almost 3 mos now and I feel so much better. I am so HAPPY I tried them, I can't tell you.

I think you should follow your gut. I wish that I did sooner. My gut told me a year ago to try to find someone who was more into herbs. Our society has taught us that when we are ill, just go to a doc and get a pill. But with lyme, it's a whole different ball of wax.

Abx killed off a load of bacteria for me, but I had problems with them after only two weeks. I am sorry I didn't follow my gut or little voice inside my head sooner.

All of that being said, my doc said that it doesn't mean he may not give me abx in the future. But for now, it's herbs (and an anti malarial). I have no where even close to the problems I had on abx.

If you want to throw in the towel on abx, girlfriend, then go for it. If you've just hit a low spot and are down, you can take a break and get back in the game anytime. Just, follow your gut.

None of us are exactly alike. What works for some, doesn't work for others. It's great that people on here try alternatives and share their experiences. I think we just have to keep trying different things until we find one that works.

P.S. I think you're right about the zith. I started getting chest pains on my last round of zith.
