My doc is switching me from Doxy to Bacterim because it's the summer. Has anyone taken Bacterim? There are no instructions on how to take this...do you take this with food? What are some side effects?

There is only one rare side effect to know about. See this website:

http://www.lymebook.com/antibiotic-treatment-for-babesia-bartonella-ehrlichia-co-infections

I took Bactrim for almost a year. That's how I got rid of babs and finished up treating bart.

That was over 7 years ago and I am still symptom free, enjoying my life. So, it worked for me.

I don't remember if you have to take it with food. Check the package insert. Seems to me I generally took all my meds with food.

I have taken bactrim off and on for many years and then one day last year I had a bad reaction that put me in the ER. I turned red, confused and having a hard time to breath. I now carry a pen with me. But the older I get the more allergies seem to be poping out.
