Just got a positive result for my daughter.
I love her allergist, and we have a follow up appt on Wed.
He has been super concerned about her and always feels badly that he can't figure out what to do about her GI pain, or determine what has caused some of her anaphylactic reactions.
I don't want him to start thinking I am nuts, but a lot of this seems to be related to the lyme.
Do I inform him on Wed. when I see him?
Great guy....just not sure where he stands on this and I like having an empathetic doctor on her side:)

I would. I know people on here have had a lot of bad reactions from doctors about Lyme, but you like him, so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. It's your daughter's health that you're dealing with and I feel like doctors in general should have as much info as possible when treating a patient.
I told my allergist about my Lyme and he was VERY supportive and empathetic. Totally believes in chronic Lyme, can't believe how badly Lyme has been handled in the med community, etc. etc. My dentist was the same way. I thought it was ironic how everyone but the ID dr's and PCPs (you know the ones who should be treating it) seem to get it.

WP Is there any connection between allergies/anaphylaxis and lyme?
I tend to want to tell him so I think you are right.
Thanks

According to my allergist, there is something excreted by the ticks that causes allergies. I think he said food allergies, but I'm not sure, this was last fall so my memory is a little fuzzy.
We actually had a long talk about Lyme (he's the chatty type) and he had read a good deal about it.
