I'm going to use Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil on my hair as a deep conditioner, and I am wondering if I should worry about a herx reaction, as I have had when ingesting it.
I realize this is probably a stupid question, but if I have to worry about a herx, I just won't use it, so I needed to ask.
Thanks for any help!

My hair stylist told me to use it as a pre-shampoo treatment and leave it on for at least 15 minutes before showering. I did a quick google search and it looks like a lot of people use it in their hair.

You could possibly herx from it since it's on the scalp. Just try a little at first and see how it goes. You can put it on strands of your hair and not rub it into the scalp. That's what I would do.
Good Luck

I did this yesterday! After warming the oil, I massaged through my hair and took an epsom salt bath. I shampooed my hair after 15 or 20 minutes. No herxing from this for me. My hair looked a lot shinier and healthier after.

Humm..I dont know but I use Dessert Essence Coconut Shampoo, Conditioner and leave in treatment.
Come to think of it when I do not use it my scalp hurts more so maybe it does help with yeast issues on the scalp.
