I am posting this because I have been reading a great deal about clay and its benefits . Three articles I found stated that parasites can not coexist with bentonite clay . I can not say I am totally convinced but can neither prove nor disprove .
I will say I feel awful after taking it , though I do not think it bothers most people . It does not kill bacteria as I understand , but if it truly starves parasites , then I suppose a herx might follow.
Anyone have an idea on this subject ?

If bentonite clay is like Cholestyramine then it could potentially be lowering certain hormones levels within your body. And thus your bad reaction could be due to that. A quick Pubmed search listed a study that seems to indicate that bentonite could potential lower thyroid levels.

Thanks ! I appreciate the info. It feels like something DYING inside me . Just like taking doxy for lyme felt . I am cautious to only take it two days a week and to replace minerals . I also take it three hours away from drugs and other supplements .
Maybe the lousy herx feeling is metal being pulled out . Very odd .

Supposedly the clay smothers the larval stages. You prob already know it absorbs some of your vitamins as well.

It makes sense to me that it would suffocate the little guys in the GI tract. I don't think it would go into the blood stream.
